Writing Workshops

My writing workshops give people a place to breathe, create, and be honest on the page. I offer both online writing workshops and in-person sessions so you can join from home or invite me into your classroom, organization, or community space.

Each workshop blends craft, reflection, and community. I draw from my experience as an award-winning Southern California poet and Certified Poet Teacher with California Poets in the Schools to share clear, practical tools for poetry, storytelling, and spoken word while still keeping things relaxed and welcoming. Sessions can focus on creative writing fundamentals, poetry and storytelling workshops, writing for performance, or expressive writing for healing.

One of my signature offerings is the award-winning "Be The Change: Social Justice Writing Workshop." In that space, participants explore race, identity, power, and belonging through poems, narratives, and dialogue. The goal isn't to have all the answers, but to give people language for their lived experiences and space to imagine something better together.

I regularly shape writing education for youth and adults, and I adapt the format to fit schools, nonprofits, and community programs. A workshop might take the form of a single high-energy session, a multi-week series, or a residency that builds toward a reading, zine, or class anthology. I'm comfortable working with brand-new writers, seasoned creatives, and mixed-level groups.

You can expect thoughtful prompts, gentle guidance, and space for sharing that respects each person's boundaries. I'm intentional about creating environments where students feel safe to try new forms, speak up, and support one another.
